Tagaytay Art Scene : Museo Orlina

I am already aware of the name Mr. Ramon Orlina and his art works , I mean who wouldn't? he is a multi-awarded glass sculptor whose reputation is extended to the art scene all through out the world, but my first personal interaction with his art work was at the Art Philippines 2017 last February and on spot I was astounded by the gleaming emerald curved glasses and unique shapes. Hooked I was like a fish in a net , I searched further regarding his works and stumbled on an information about MuseOrlina located at Tagaytay. The place is very near from where I live in the South. No hesitations and I went to check out the Museum alone. The Museum's design and structure is very modernize, consisting of three floors and a roofdeck (each floors is named after Mr. Orlina's three daughter and son). Upon entering the premises their attendant will let you watch a short introductory video about the artist, his early artworks also rules and regulations while inside the facility.

You will also get a great view of the Taal volcano and lake from the Museum.

Since Mr. Orlina accomplished his architectural degree at University of Santo Thomas in Manila it became the foundation of his artworks, you  will see a lot of mixed medias being displayed in the Museum. Mix of glasses and Metals or woods.

He also makes Jewelries

My favorite the Butt chairs

Museum doesn't only showcase Mr. Orlina's artworks, they also present artworks of young aspiring talents from different Universities, This is a very big help for our youngsters who would love to pursue a path in Artistry, here are some of the artworks of our millennial.

I personally love the outdoor structure garden section, perfect spot in the vicinity for an afternoon chill plus the weather in Tagaytay major Awesome! Garden has a small amphitheater  where they held Art Beat an event that showcase art and music . Local bands were invited to perform for the said event, too bad I wasn't able to attend it tickets were sold out in a whiplash.

Vinyl 1 : DIIV - Is the Is Are

DIIV

I just recently got into collecting Vinyl and this American Rock Band started it all. DIIV (Dive) is an American Indie  Rock Band from Brooklyn New York City. I got to listen to their 2nd album first which is "Is the Is Are" released last February 5,2016, but will also definitely check out their debut album Oshin.  I got this vinyl online in a community of record and turntable enthusiasts they have a Facebook page called Vinyl Open Trade Manila.

Aside from the awesome artistic cover page it also contains a total of 17 awesome lyrical content and my favorite of all the songs is HEALTHY MOON , mixing soft metallic guitars and slow paced rhythm is really what I crave for. Give this band a shot and you will thank me for telling you so.

Bliss in the Eccentric

Summer is always fun, you get to see the Blue sky, warm breeze and have your skin toasted under the Sun. Going to the beach during summer is not always an option, dipping in the lake or a river is also nice, camping in a preserved forest were you can do Bon fires and S'mores (oh gawd how I really love them S'mores) but for me and my friends, being locked out of the house on a scorching afternoon was to our surprise is also a good idea of a summer get away.

It just happened that we are on our way to my friend Debbie's house ( if you see the pictures below she is wearing a black and white stripped shirt with a Mickey mouse print on it). Unfortunately she doesn't have her keys to their house with her, and her parents are having their afternoon siesta , so we have to wait for them to wake up. Good thing they have tall tress and lots of plants  at their garden so it wasn't that hot outside, then  I thought of a doing a little photo op to kill time and this is what happened.

I tried my best to take their photos as candid as it can be to make it look so chill and effortless , it is not my personality to think so much. I'm also glad that these two girls are always game for any gnarly poses.
